If you’re dropping any hints, Lois, I’m not strict and I’m not interested in becoming Rugger’s father. I’ve been lucky that Jeremy has kept himself out of trouble, though I don’t know the half of his life. He’s always reading or off in the library and never talks about anything with me. The last serious discussion we had was when I asked him if he wanted to learn how to print The Gazette, and he looked at me like I was crazy. So I’ve reconciled myself to the fact that I’m the last printer of this paper, unless when I’m ready to retire I can find someone to buy it from me. But that’s a long way off and not something I like to think about.
Anyway, Tuesday night sounds good. Do you want to see The Terminator in Angels? I could pick you up and we could go out for dinner—not at Galvin’s. It’d be your choice, since I owe you one. How about the Murphys Hotel? They have a nice dining room. But I’ll let you choose.
